About The Event

Hi everyone we are the CAVA Community Melbourne!!

We organise trips that are REALLY FUN and help the environment at the same time. We have discovered a really beautiful place to camp that has a  wonderful beach side camping ground and many awesome activities to do! We're planning to go there on the 4th of November. It's sure to be awesome!! We hope you can come with us, enjoy our beautiful natural environment, have some fun and make friends.

ITINERARY -

Friday

14:00 - Meet your cars and passengers

(You will receive a transport sharing spreadsheet by email after you register on our website. You can use this to organise transport.)

14:00 - 16:00 - We will travel on 4th of November by car to Bear Gully campgrounds, Tarwin Lower. There is a place to park cars there. (Aim to arrive before 17:30 if leaving late)

16:00 - 18:00 -  We will meet in the campsite, set up tents and prepare a BBQ dinner (bring a plate)

18:30 - 19:30   We will do a fun team building activity while we enjoy our dinner and then tidy up

20:00 - 21:00- Afterwards, if people still have energy, we will go for a night walk to try and spot some wildlife

21:00 - 22:00 Free time to explore or just relax at camp before tucking in for the night!!

Saturday

9:00 -  Bacon and egg breakfast and tidy up

10:00 - 10:30 We will play a fun camp game and get ready for the beach

10:30 - 11:00 - Head to Walkerville South

11:00 - 12:00 Walk up the beach to Walkerville and clean up any rubbish we find!!

12:00 - 13:00-   Eat Fish and Chip lunch at the Kiosk!!  BYO Kiosk money or a packed lunch.

13:00 - 15:00- Explore Walkerville before heading back to Bear Gully

15:00 - 16:00 Build a fire and play a game together

16:00 - 17:00- Free time to explore the campgrounds / walk on the beach / relax. 

17:30 - 18:30-  We will have a campfire dinner

20:00 - 22:00- Afterwards, if people still have energy, we will go for a night walk to try and spot some wildlife. 

22:00 - Camp out and tell some campfire stories, roast marshmellows and have fun!! (Quiet space at campsite for those who wish to turn in earlier)

Sunday

08:00 -  Wake up!!

08:30 - 9:30 - Eat a pancake breakfast.

09:30 -  10:00 -  Play a fun camp game!! 

10:00 - 10:30 - Prepare lunch for our walk.

10:30 - 11:30 - Pack up our tents and clean camp site.

11:30 - 12:30 - Head to the lighthouse and clean up any rubbish we can find on the way!! Doing our bit for the environment.

13:00 - 13:30 Eat lunch at the lighthouse and have a closing ceremony.

13:30 - 14:00 Head back to the cars and drive back to Melbourne

16:00- 16:30 Arrive home

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

CONTRIBUTION - 55AUD

INCLUDES - the cost of the food, campsite,  games, activities, park fees, group equipment costs, transport, registration fees, meetups website cost, cleaning equipment, insurance, leader expenses, equipment storage and equipment transport. 

DOES NOT INCLUDE - Transport to the meeting location.

TRANSPORT

Car pooling

You will be sent a car pooling spreadsheet link by email after you register on our website. Use this to share transport with others on the adventure.

TENTS

You can borrow one from the group.

One Tent = 15Aud (Can fit two people)

TO BRING

1. Flip flops for the beach, hiking shoes / runners for walking.

2. Activities (board games, cards, books, craft activities, beach balls, sun loungers, inflatable toys, anything you can think of which is fun)

3. Waterproof stuff in case it gets wet. (A dry bag for your smart phones and cameras. Sand and water don't mix well with electronics)

4. Camping equipment - Mosquito spray, camping mat, sleeping bag, mosquito coils, torch and tent.

5. Swimming stuff

6. Water - Reasonable amount of water for drinking.

STRICT - If you change your mind you can cancel within 24 hours of payment but after this it is not possible to process a refund.
